Oslo City Council launched their vision for the construction of 37 000 new houses in Groruddalen over the next 20 years on NRK radio yesterday.
The initiative entails that options previously discussed, with even more industry and businesses, is no longer relevant. That does not mean that achieving a major turnaround from industrial- to modern residential area will be done in a day.
Head of Information in OBOS Åge Pettersen, points out that the plan requires major changes.
– I agree that there is great potential, especially in the middle of the valley. But there is a dire need to do something about the indistries that dominates the area today, Petterson said.
