The subjects addressed, in the over thirty meetings and conferences, in the axe of politicians, business-and research environments in Oslo this week cannot be heard to often: How to find new technologies, designs and products that can create the jobs of tomorrow?
With the partly state-owned company Oslo Teknopol in front, competitions, parties and awards are held in the midst of conferences and meetings. A lot of clever things are to be said about “innovation and politics, capital and the finance of projects, innovation created by research, and young people and entrepreneurship” to quote the program.
One of the more concrete questions to be dealt with is in due time: Where have all the it- companies been the last ten years? Whilst the nineties gave us Superoffice, Mamut and Opera, the 21-century has been quiet in that sense.
In the other end of the scale we have innovation questions like “How to pass a billion in revenue?” I expect that one to be quite full.
