A nightclub in Frogner, a bar in Gamlebyen and another bar and two nightclubs in St. Hanshaugen, all came under scrutiny after a series of liquor controls in the early summer of this year. Business Administration revealed the racial discrimination of bar and nightclub-goers in violation of the penal code. The venues have not lost their liquor license, but the cases are sent to the police for further investigation.
In the period of May-July 2010 Business Administration executed over 148 liquor controls in over 128 venues all over Oslo, for the purpose of uncovering discrimination. Six cases was uncovered, and five of these were concluded with discrimination based on ethnicity.
