-After three weeks in the shelves at Centra Colosseum about 80 kilos per week of luxury cod is sold, says chef Linn Andreassen who works at the fresh produce counter at Colosseum.
The Campaign period is over and Strøm is now sold at full price, 149 kroner per kilo. Competitors Strøm and Salma are lying side by side in their separate cooling counters at Centra Colosseum. Salma is sold at 229 kroner per kilo.
– We sell about 150 kg Salma-salmon per week, Andreassen says.
It is safe to say that the introduction of Strøm has been well received when as much as 80 kilograms is sold each week. Andreassen says that customers have requested a cod-product that corresponds to the Salma salmon for a long time.
– Among our customers there has also been significant demand for the wild cod that we sell here. But this product does not have amount to the same volumes.
Despite the good reception and interest after the launch, there will be no expansion of distribution before 2011.
