It was announced on monday that Aspiros operations in the mobile entertainment segment was sold to the Finnish company Exsol Oy, for about 2.5 million kroner, this included an agreement that provides Aspiro a part of the earnings for a certain period after the transaction.
In July, Aspiro sold other parts of there operation to different companies in Sweden and Denmark for a total of about 45 million kroner.
The reason behind the transactions is that the company wants to focus only on streaming music and television in addition to what CEO Gunnar Sellæg calls "business solutions for the mobile segment".
– We see great opportunities for growth in the future and are convinced that we should focus even more on our core business, he says.
Here in Norway, the company is best known for providing the music service WIMP. In Denmark, the company supplies music streaming to Telenor. There are ongoing talks about a similar operation in Portugal. Furthermore Aspiro aspires to deliver streaming music and video to phone operators and media companies. Both Telenor, Deutsche Telecom, Telefonica and O2 is on the list of Aspiros customers.
