I know that many – including several older people – own parking slots they don’t use. It is these and other spots we are looking for. When we have managed to find an available slot, we take care of all the practical and administrative arrangements for both the owner and the customer, Ertzgaard says. The question of whether the business, named Park-Smart, survives depends on how many slots the company manages to find.
– We have received very good response so far and gained many new customers. The problem now is actually to find parking space near where customers live, Ertzgaard says.
The profit that we have calculated is not big. If the owner of the slot demands 1300 and we can charge the customer 1400, our share is modest, to say the least. Therefore, we have to focus on volume. Our ambition is a thousand slots nationwide in the first place, Ertzgaard says.
When he and his staff are not running around in Oslo, literally looking for parking space, Ertzgaard works offshore in the North Sea.
Given that it is currently unknown how many slots Park-Smart can obtain, Ertzgaard feels that until further it is difficult to talk numbers.
