Big increases of broadband subscriptions in Oslo

At the end of the third quarter this year 1.72 million Norwegian households acquired a fixed broadband connection. That is 67 000 more than in the same period of last year. Compared with the second quarter of this year less than 26 000 had acquired subscriptions, according to Statistics of Norway. In the same period, the number of businesses with fixed broadband connection decreased with 600 subscriptions.

Akershus and Oslo, along with Sør Trøndelag, are the counties with the highest number of broadband subscriptions per cent of households. Combined, over 78 percent of households have a fixed broadband connection installed in the three counties. Finnmark has the lowest coverage in the country; only 60 percent of households has a fast broadband subscription.
