Manpower uses the term "Net Employment Outlook" in its report, which is based on interviews with a representative selection of 750 employers across the country. This figure is found by the percentage of employers who expect a decline in the number of employees in their company the next quarter are deducted from the percentage expecting an increase.
The financial sector, which is vast in Oslo, is according to Manpower been among the most optimistic sectors since the survey was introduced in Norway in 2003. This is good news for people who dream of a job in finance, one of five employers plan on hiring more people, while only four percent are planning to downsize.
– There is still an uncertainty in the market, fewer employers plan to hire new people, says CEO Målfrid Brath of Manpower.
